It's time to catch up in my life! July 1st, 2014 (1st 6 months of the year)

Hello, everyone! I'm going to catch you up on what has happened in my life. Some of the things may surprise you... who knows? Anyways, here it is!

January 2014
It's a new year! Ah! How I love it! So my year began with going to paint pottery with family and friends I ended up painting a penguin piggy bank. I just loved that! Then the next day we watched an awesome movie entitled "The Way Way Back" and I highly recommend it. Good movie. Also, that same day it decided to snow! Snow & I have a love/hate relationship. Got to get a favorite TV show of mine on DVD that month at Best Buy which is True Blood season 5. That show is very interesting, to say in the least of matter. I made my own slideshow on my iMovie app on my iPad featuring friends and family and it was awesome! Got a chance to go to Ulta, Wegmans, and Bed Bath & Beyond with family (that was a nice trip). Also, got to dog sit my grandparent's dogs this month as well. Something also this month freaked my mind out as well. I want to include this for you. As I was getting the mail around 3pm, I noticed a particular cherry red van. I immediately knew who it was. It was my old friend from high school. It scared me to death and I nearly had a panic attack seeing her again. But I got over it very quickly for some strange reason. Began the process of finding me a volunteer place to go in the summer. Onwards to February!

February 2014
Experienced the most boring Super Bowl ever that month and managed to make a dish for the event. The dish was kale and artichoke dip with homemade pita chips (it was really good, by the way). And thank goodness the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet wasn't as boring as the actual NFL gaming event. Also, this month we looked at new furniture for our living room. Attended a charity event for autism at a local bowling alley and that was fun! Managed to also organize my massive tea collection (if you saw my tea collection you'd probably understand why). On Valentine's Day, I was suggested by the same friend (I mentioned in January) to a meetup at Starbucks to talk and catch up. I was hesitant to go but I went anyways. She picked me up and we went to Starbucks. I ordered a Chai Tea Latte whereas she got a hot cocoa. We talked for over at least 2 hours about anything and everything. Got out new furniture this month as well. Also, this month my grandparent's dog had passed away that month. I was a little heartbroken to hear that. This month I went down to visit my grandparents in SC for a few days or so. I always enjoy my time down there visiting them. I also discovered I get terribly homesick even if it for a couple of days. I'm trying to figure out why I do get that way. Next, March 2014!

March 2014
Left a few days afterwards this month from my grandparent's house in SC and I was very happy to be going home. Caught up with the old friend from high school again to Panera Bread for lunch. We talked a lot more than usual. I don't know why but she's such a good person to let out my feelings to. The day after we went to lunch, she sends me a link to a movie entitled "Mozart & the Whale" which deals with people with autism. My gosh, that movie got my tears flowing! It was good, though. Also, began watching a show entitled "Doctor Who" on Netflix. It is a good show! My friend told me about it and became hooked on it. This same month, my Nana passed away. She was such an amazing woman, and I loved her dearly. Hopefully, she's enjoying her BBC programming and dessert. Man, my Nana loved dessert! Had to include a bit on her, cause I loved her to pieces. Also, this same month was the viewing/funeral. I couldn't take it that day (you can kinda get the idea why). Then we attended to a reception at a lounge a few miles away from the funeral home. It was a very lovely reception. The buffet was killer! I loved that! Stayed for a bit, and went home. As soon as I get back, I see a bag on my door with something inside it. I go upstairs to my room and open it. My awesome friend got me an Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Skellington Vinyl Figurine. I LOVED IT! It also made my day better. Now to April!

April 2014
You know you have beauty things lying around your bathroom and you don't whether or not you're gonna use them? It happened to me this month. I just had to get rid of items. Then I also got hooked onto Amazon and got me some things off of there which include a Doctor Who shirt, a We are in the crowd album, and Justin's Chocolate Hazelnut Butter. One afternoon, I decided to watch my oldie but goodie Fall Out Boy DVDs I own and just found them still funny. Those boys are awesome! Love the band to pieces. Traveled down to my grandparent's once again and enjoyed my time there as well. Also, began writing and posting a food blog this month. I really enjoy doing that. Had an enjoyable Easter with family (I would've rather hung out with a friend of mine than be there at that event). My friend unexpectedly dropped off the Sally nightmare before Christmas vinyl figurine and I really liked it! I had a dream one night where I wanted to wake up and watch mean girls and so it happened. I happen to like Janis in the movie. Gosh, she's hilarious! "I've got a big lesbian crush on you!" Yes! She's awesome! My friend of mine invited me out for a bit with friends to the mall and I enjoyed myself. Now to May!

May 2014
This month, I got to experience the most awesome event ever! My friend of mine took me to a free comic book day at a comic book store near us. Before that, she took me to get fresh donuts from the Farmer's Market. They were yummy by the way. Then she had one more thing to take care of and we were on our way! The event was such a fun day! She cosplayed as a character from DC comic called Black Canary. She got some of the free comics and Doctor Who merch and I got my Watchmen comic. Also, R2-D2 was at the event and I nearly was geeking out of how awesome it was. After the event, we went to lunch and then I was invited out to dinner with group members of hers and that was fun! Headed to her house afterwards, and I enjoyed myself there. Began prepping a new story idea this month as well (it's a romance hint hint...). She invited me out again this month to Old Town Annapolis and we got to go to antique shops (which I loved) and to an awesome Irish pub for lunch. Just enjoyed the day with her. Need to do those again sometime soon. Enjoyed our annual Mother's Day at home with family and it was just nice. Is it anyone here a fan of TVD? I was but I lost interest in the show. So, I discovered that month they killed off Damon. NO THEY DIDN'T! I was so mad! I know it's a TV character but he was a favorite of mine when I watched the series. Did some shopping with my sister and that was enjoyable. Went to a graduation party for my 2nd cousin and it was not the most 'exciting' event I have been to. I just really wanted to leave from that event. It was that boring to me. Then we stopped by a mall outside where my 2nd cousin's family resides, and I got some awesome merch from Hot Topic and it just made my day better. Forward into June!

June 2014
Had a day to myself to where I could do whatever I wanted (I love those kind of days!) and watched "Wayne's World" on Netflix. Such a funny film! Beauty wise, I tried out a new shaving cream from eos and it was such a nice product (a little TMI, but I wanted to include it anyways). Made some Pineapple coconut popsicles (I used the evolution fresh pineapple coconut water, banana, pineapple chunks, and shredded coconut) and watched "The Princess Bride" with my mom (since she admitted to never seeing it). Started to begin writing my romance story this month. The writer's block caught with me again after finished writing that part. Also, found out that Doctor Who season 7 was put up on Netflix (finally). Went to a friend of mine's graduation party and she was ecstatic to see me (we haven't seen each other in over 2 years)! I made her a spa night themed basket for her as a graduation gift. She liked it by the way. I also got to visit my grandpa this month for a few days with my mom and it was nice to see him. Went to a Washington Nationals game with family and that was also fun.

I hope you enjoyed reading the 6 months of my life so far!

I will continue it again at the end of this year (hopefully I remember by then).

Have a happy summer and an awesome Fourth of July!

TTFN!

Lauren.
