Happy 2024, everyone! How is it already a new year? I feel like every year just flies by! Anyways, monthly favorites are back for this year! Yay! *cue excitement*
I've got a fun assortment of things I've been into for this month and I cannot wait to share them with you all! Let's get into it!
Favorite Coffee and / or Tea: Counter Culture Iridescent Whole Bean Coffee- this coffee I bought on a whim on Amazon and ended up loving the fruity notes in it (I know fruity notes are not for everyone) and it was so good! Again, it was delicious as a cold brew too (yes I do cold brew even in winter no one is gonna stop me). Link- https://counterculturecoffee.com/products/iridescent
Favorite Music (been in bit of a rock mood and I'm not one bit mad about it):
“Anklebiters” by Paramore- link: https://youtu.be/RYg5gEh4PW0?si=kh0dXgrl-TyX0dp_

Favorite Book(s) I've Read: Interesting Facts About Space (my early release Book of the Month pick for January 2024- release date: 1/30/2024 in case I upload this blog post earlier) by Emily Austin
In case you were a bit confused, I ended up getting the monthly Book of the Month subscription and this book I ended up loving Interesting Facts About Space by Emily Austin. This book told the tale of Enid, a true-crime obsessed space factoid person but has a phobia of bald men (I wish I made that up but I didn't) and doesn't have a great bond with her half-sisters. Over the course of the book, Enid overcomes a big fear, learns to have relationships (not just with others) but herself, too. This book definitely had a personality I will give you that. If you have a chance to get this book when it comes out on 1/30/2024, I would get it. It was such a fun read! I'm hoping Book of the Month will get me back into a bit more discipline with reading. Who said reading is meant to be boring?
Favorite TV Show and / or Movie(s) I've Either Watched or Streamed: Good Grief on Netflix
I have to talk to you all about this movie I watched two times this month (yes I said two!). It was such a good movie! It tells the tale of Dan Levy (Marc) and his character's husband in the movie that just died (was played by Luke Evans in the film). Over of the course of the movie, Marc goes through the grieving process and has a wonderful support system through it. Friends are never to be taken for granted. Marc learns a lot about himself in the movie (has a love for art but I won't spoil it anymore than I need to). I've never enjoyed a movie so much than this one. It'll make you laugh, cry, and just feel so wholesome after watching it. We need more movies like this one that's for sure.
Here's the trailer for Good Grief- https://youtu.be/bR_MPXTaEZw?si=lyi-vEWf7SWDHF2E
Favorite Fashion Piece and / or Accessory: my two To Write Love on Her Arms shirts (the TWLOHA founder's quote I love- you'll need coffee shops... & caring for your mind is caring for your self)
link to shirt 1 (you'll need coffee shops...)- https://store.twloha.com/collections/t-shirts/products/reblog-shirt; this one is currently is sold out but you can be notified when it becomes in stock again
link to shirt 2 (caring for your mind)- https://store.twloha.com/products/self-care-long-sleeve?_pos=1&_sid=9c4c19512&_ss=r
These shirts I bought on a whim for myself- as you know I am an advocate about mental health because of my own daily struggles with it. I love the messages on both of these two shirts and I'm happy I can speak about it (not just through clothing).
This body scrub from Dr Teal's was the most soothing scented product I've used in a while- it felt like I went to a spa! So good!
Among the Clouds from Bath & Body Works (you can find this on Amazon- very low stock on these two items by the way): This has notes of berry and vanilla; the scent wasn't too much for my sensitive skin. I did like it so!
Well, that's it for this month's post- tune in for next month's post! See you then! And most importantly, take care of yourselves!
Sending lots of love & light,
Lauren
