Time to Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!- My Fun, Random Moments in My Life 2012/2013
Well, well, well, I haven't updated this thing in about few months. So, I will update it and tell you all about Christmas and everything else in between.
December 24th, 2012
So, this day overall wasn't too bad minus the negative moments divulged into it. As my mom likes to do every single holiday season is to bake cookies. Yes, what a joyous thing to endeavor! We bake for most of the day and took breaks in between to have our lunch then dinner later on. Of course, baking later on you really don't care what you want to eat. So, I spoke up and said, "Chinese Food." Everybody agreed with that option, of course. I also figured something else about myself on this day too. I became a different side of myself which to being is my bad side. I hate revealing that side of myself. I don't like feeling negative. Being happy is my mantra in life, and it's the best job in the world I could ever ask for. Even if their is no salary/check involved. After dinner, we sat around to watch one of my Dad's favorite films It's a Wonderful Life. Then in between one of my lovely friends called and it was a nice chat for a few minutes or so. The chick I talked to is so friggin' awesome!
Then, as usual, we have our tradition of opening one Christmas present on Christmas Eve. My mom went first and picked a gift from Santa and it was Keurig Cups in her favorite kind, Breakfast Blend. Then she went to open a gift (following out of tradition standards) from me and she got a $25 Bath & Body Works gift card, eos Lip Balm in Sweet Mint scent, and a charm of a Husky breed. She got two more earlier when opening which were a beer can and a Gingerbread man. Then it was onto me and it was a pretty awesome gift- a giant box of Laffy Taffy Candy. Ah, how I love this candy! It's my favorite ever! Then, it was onto my dad and he received a set of socks, a tool set, and Redskins 2013 Day Calendar and my sister went next and she got a big box of Nerds candy. She really liked the candy. Then to bed later on, and I was ready for whatever the day brought me next.

This was probably a good Christmas morning to remember. Woke up around 8 a.m., did usual morning things, made breakfast then to open stockings. The stocking stuffers I received were a bath/body set in a scent I like (Red Plum & Freesia), a Victoria's Secret Pink All Over Body Mist in Fun & Fearless, a $25 movie gift card, various travel size things (deodorant, mouthwash, etc.), and candy. The presents I received were: 2 pairs of sweatpants in Black & Grey, 2 pairs of pajama pants in a Snowman and Christmas tree print, 2 shirts (one with a Skull on it and the other of Marilyn Monroe), several pairs of socks, The Chew Food. Life. Fun. Cookbook, a various Lady Gaga book, Dance Central 3 for Xbox 360 Kinect, 3 pairs of gloves (all of them can be used for iPods, smartphones, etc.), a dog named Elvis from Build-a-Bear with a set of clothes and PJ's along with scent that smells like Chocolate Chip cookies, and a huge makeup set (to which will be used). Later on, ate breakfast and sat to watch the Christmas Day parade. Then to finally get ready for the day at my aunt's house.Got everything we needed and headed on out to my aunt's house. Of course,we were the first to arrive and prepared appetizers and continued to hangout for most of the time there. Then, all of the kids got their gifts and I received a $10 iTunes gift card along with one I found earlier which was $25, also got a $25 Wal-Mart gift card, a Twilight Breaking Dawn Pt 1 Blanket, and a pretty bracelet. Had dinner later on, and just continued hanging out. Then did the gift exchange and everyone received nice gifts (I got a fancy new chopper, my sister got Five Second Rule board game, Dad got a Jack Daniels Whiskey gift box set, and my mom received a $25 Wal-Mart gift card.) Left a few hours later, chilled out and prepared for my outing the next day.

Today was the outing at my Nana's house. So, we did our usual morning routine and then headed on over there. The thing I like about going over there is that it isn't so over-crowded and noisy. Boy, did the noise bother me back in the day. Anyways, we arrived and noticed my aunt, uncle and cousin already over there. Prepared appetizers and just chit-chatted the afternoon away. My mom, aunt, uncle and cousin opened their stockings and liked everything inside it. My Nana received several items from all of us. A couple of hours or so later, we ate dinner and then had our gift exchange. Everyone received something different (I got a popcorn maker with various kernels and drizzle, mom and dad both got $25 MasterCard Debit Gift Cards, and my sister received a gift but I don't remember it.) Played card games out of a basket I made then someone else received. That didn't last very long. Then, a surprise was among us; instead of usual gifts my Nana gets us she gave us a card with $100 inside it. Left a hour later, and this day ended to be great.
December 27th-30th, 2012: normal days at home
December 31st, 2012
This was a nice New Years' Eve to remember, and I liked it a lot. Had our usual day errands to do, and then came home for celebration. Made snacks to which everyone liked and managed to get a shower before the ball dropped at midnight. We also played games such as Five Second Rule and Monopoly Electronic Banking. We counted down into 2013, and I had never been excited to enjoy such an event with family. My family and I had a toast of Sparkling Cider then we were all ready for bed.
January 1st-4th, 2013- even more normal days at home
January 5th, 2013
Today was the day of my other aunt's Christmas soiree. This is one I always try to get out of but managed to go anyways. Had breakfast then we are all got ready to go, and headed to stop for lunch on the way there. Surprisingly enough, we were the first ones there. Got everything we needed out and waited for the others to arrive. Set food up in the kitchen, and noticed that my cousins and family arrived. One of my cousins' even brought his girlfriend with him. I think making a joke to know a person you don't know is a good icebreaker. Had more family arrive later and my dad gave them these Perplexus puzzles and they seemed to enjoy them very much. All of us young people headed downstairs and chilled out down there for a majority of the time. Just hung out and talked for a majority of the time got appetizers in between. A couple or so hours later, we ate dinner (whomever was there- others went to cousin's b-ball thingy), and everything was nice. Then they came back and ate as were playing Jeopardy board game. Continued hanging out, watched a card game and even got dessert in between. Then before everybody left we had another gift exchange and everyone received something different (I got a Ladybug ornament plus a Jewelry rack my cousin didn't want and my sister received a oil diffuser.) Then everybody wanted to leave so we all left, said goodbyes, and headed home. What a day I enjoyed tremendously!
All of these I really did like and everything was great. I got to see family I wanted to see and some I didn't want to see. Likewise, I loved every second of seeing these people on those days and most of them made me smile. If I want to remember something I will, if I don't then I just forget it and move on. Memories are times to be cherished and not forgotten about. Because if we don't remember them, we lose sight of what's really happening in the moment.
I think inspiration and imagination are my two new favorite words. I just love them.
TTFN!
Lauren.
