December 2023 Favorites + A Yearly Favorites?! | What I've Loved This Month & For This Whole Year

Today you are getting two posts in one- that's a first for me! I wanted to share favorites from this month and over the course of this year, too. I have to tell you I had a good year for favorites- I'm planning to include my favorite memories/recipes/milestones from this year also (just beyond this month). Well, let's get into it...

Coffee Favorite(s):

  • Rise Up Coffee Winter Warmer- this blend is one of my favorites every winter season it comes out- it has brown sugar notes, and a wonderful Sumatra addition in it. Anything with Sumatra is good! They are a local coffee shop near where I live and if you ever come to Maryland, this coffee shop is one to stop by and while it's in season, grab this coffee- I'll link it: https://riseupcoffee.com/product/winter-warmer-seasonal/

  • Thrive Market Rwanadan Blend- this was a just released limited batch coffee I got this month with my Thrive Market order and I ended up liking how mild the taste was (I usually don't love overwhelming notes in a lot of coffees and this was perfect). It has notes of berry, citrus, and chocolate and keep in mind this is a whole bean coffee so if you don't have a coffee grinder, I'd get one for this coffee (or really any coffees). I'll link it: https://thrivemarket.com/p/thrive-market-organic-rwandan-coffee-lto

*Both of the coffees I've test batched as cold brews in my cold brew coffee maker and they are excellent!

2023 Movies / TV Shows I Enjoyed:

  • Love at First Sight on Netflix (watched this because of the book I read based on it)
  • Wednesday on Netflix (wanted to see what the hype was and I thoroughly enjoyed it; bring it on season 2)
  • The Pale Blue Eye on Netflix (watched this twice and enjoyed it)

2023 Coffee(s) I Enjoyed:

  • Thrive Market Colombian Whole Bean Coffee
  • Community Coffee Bold Espresso Roast (delicious mixed in with flavored coffees)
  • Winterland via La Colombe Coffee

2023 Memories/Milestones/Recipes I liked, etc:

  • 1/18/2023- Visited my good friend at his new coffee shop with his mom and aunt (such nice humans!)- his aunt was nice enough to get everyone drinks and even a treat! Had a yummy cinnamon chip scone!
  • 2/4/2023- Learned to make shepherd's pie (meat-based- used to making it vegetarian friendly) and it ended up being so yummy! Made it extra by putting it in a cast-iron pan.
  • 2/19/2023- 2/27/2023- Stayed for a wonderful week at my mom and sister's house- met my baby cousin Mario, went on too many coffee/grocery/Target runs, and spent quality time with them. Within that window, we put Susie (my late grandpa's dog) down and coming home and not being used to her being there was hard. She is so missed!
  • 3/4/2023- Learned to make pasta bolognese via a Trader Joe's recipe and it came out super yummy!
  • 3/24/2023- Fall Out Boy's new album So Much (for) Stardust came out- listened to this for almost a week straight after it's release!
  • 4/1/2023- Went to the mall with my dad and grabbed two new band tees (FOB & the 1975) and as I was checking out, Sugar we're goin' down played and it was a full circle moment for me. That's the song that made fall in love with Fall Out Boy- nostalgic moment cued up- and hearing it was such fun! Just about everyone was singing along in the store to it and it made me smile so hard!
  • 4/14/2023- Went to a Culinary Alumni event with my mom and we made dishes using strawberries- a strawberry brie phyllo cup with balsamic glaze, a flatbread pizza with caramelized onions plus chicken + mozzarella cheese, & strawberry shortcake. Recieved a strawberry huller (to hollow the stems on top of the strawberry out), too.
  • 7/31/2023- 8/5/2023- Stayed for another fun week-ish at my mom and sister's house.
  • 7/7/2023- 7/10/2023- Was sick with the worst case of “summertime flu” (so not fun!)- didn't feel like myself much but did one watch Nightmare Before Christmas (to boost my spirits up!) and even though I couldn't laugh/sing much because I had the worst cough known to man but it was comforting on the inside (even though I was sick that whole week).
  • 8/11/2023- 8/20/2023- Did a fun smoothie challenge (even if some of the smoothies were ok tasting).
  • 8/16/2023- Began therapy again virtually of course.
  • 8/21/2023- 8/25/2023- Pet sat for my neighbor's dogs + cats while they were away on their summer vacation; it didn't help with the urge to get a new dog but those dogs loved me. The cats however, one nipped at my finger and the other warmed up to me very well (the one cat is a bit on the shyer side so this was surprising to me).
  • 8/26/2023- Went to a fun Baltimore Orioles game with my dad (even though I got a bit overwhelmed) and I believe we won that day too (I cannot remember for the life of me!)
  • 9/5/2023- Began the first of many months of starting a new workout routine (began with 5 days a week as per recommended; but eased with 4 days a week later on; might go back to 5 days a week...)
  • 10/27/2023- 10/29/2023- did a fun Fall/Halloween themed me weekend- filled with activites + shows/movies that I love- such fun!
  • 11/17/2023- Celebrated a wonderful 31st birthday with my dad- went out to True Food Kitchen and I had a wonderful variety of meals, a mocktail that was so good, and made myself chocolate orange cupcakes (even though my dad bought me my fave red velvet cake). Recieved a wonderful assortment of gifts, too.
  • 12/1/2023- Began my new Nespresso advent calendar (this is something new for me so I gotta include it)- did get some fun pods to try (some I've tried before) so far- have a bonus item in this calendar (curious to see what that is later on in the month).

2024 Goals | What Do I Want To Accomplish for Next Year

Today's post is a bit different than what I normally post (not super different but you get the idea)- I wanted to share my goals for next year. I know not a lot of people are into doing these things and I totally get it (I used to be that person). But I find goals / ideas / intentions are easier to stick to than just one whole resolution (which usually by the first of the month of the new year usually people fail on). So, I'm going to share my theme, goals, word, and quote(s) for next year. If this interests you as well, take 5-10 minutes out of your day and write some things down that you want to accomplish for next year. With all of that being said, here are mine!

Theme for 2024: Self-Love- want to focus more on the things that fill my soul up- spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally (things I love really).

Goals for 2024:

  • Implement exercising 4 to 5x a week- movement that I enjoy doing rather than dreading. Include much needed recovery day(s) and meditation practice(s), too. Recovery I've learned is important for preventing future injuries (I pulled a hip muscle one afternoon in 2023 because of that and that's why I include it more often than usual- 1x a week is usually good for me).
  • Get outside more often.
  • Do more fun, spontaneous movie nights.
  • Develop an easy to stick to nighttime routine (even when I travel also)- something I've been wanting to implement as I'm someone that struggles to fall & stay asleep (also to not be overstimulated at night too). Just 3 things I can do help me sleep at night is a start (read instead of watching TV at night, making a herbal tea, and / or a bath / hot shower- just some ideas here people).
  • To not take things personally.
  • To be more outspoken about things that matter to me.
  • Continue to read more books.
  • Do journaling more often. Journaling/writing is very therapeutic for me.
  • Taking Saturday's & Sunday's offline. I already take days off on Sunday's but want to implement this more often than normal.
  • Get a tattoo or tattoo(s)- for those that are new around here, I have an irrational fear of needles. I've had it as long as I can remember (reason being I also hate going to the doctors' but that's another story for another day). There a few tattoos I'd like: a phoenix (love the symbolism behind it), something to do with music (maybe something with Fall Out Boy- if you know, you know), and the infinity symbol (this one is from a book my sister recommended me- The Perks of Being a Wallflower- the quote goes: And in the end, I swear we are infinite. Infinite being a powerful, free feeling). I've also got a fear of needles to overcome before any of this happens (this will take baby steps to overcome). I've had this idea after leaving a toxic relationship almost 8 years ago- two of those ideas being: dyeing my hair red and getting tattoo(s). Wanted to have a sense of rebellion + freedom since in that previous relationship I wasn't given those
choices- I have been now. Also, a little self-expression is always good, too.
Word for 2024: Content
My Quote(s) for 2024: "Choose you; always." & "Be nice to yourself."

So, I do hope you enjoy this post and whatever you decide to do today, go and do it with all of your heart. Make the latter end of 2023 your best and go into 2024 with a bang!

Sending lots of love & light & happiness your way,

Lauren

November 2023: What I've Been Into This Month

Well, it's one of my favorite posts to do monthly- the favorites! It is such a fun mix this month; I hope you enjoy reading it! It was a special month as I celebrated my 31st birthday and my sister her 29th birthday, too. I did have a good birthday in case you were wondering- went out to eat with my dad and got showered with lots of love and presents.

If you do one thing for today, take the time to appreciate those around you. Love them; hug them; just do it.

Coffee (plus a mug) Favorite(s):

I had a spontaneous La Colombe order I decided to do this month and they had a new coffee called Winterland I ended up loving- the flavor notes were exactly what the label said: apple crumble, panettone, and chocolate mousse. So good! But this coffee at the time I got it they were having a specialty holiday gift-a-away and it came with a diner style mug that matched the design of the coffee (I would link the mug but the mug is currently unavailable). I absolutely loved this mug. I'll link this coffee- https://www.lacolombe.com/products/winterland?nosto=searchpage-nosto-1

The "Winterland" coffee, the mug (how cute is it?), and a sticker that went with the whole vibe of the coffee itself.

This next coffee is from Pure Intentions and I bought this to try and the name is Twilight- it is the most bold smoky dark roast I've ever tried. I'll link it- https://pureintentionscoffee.com/products/twilight-dark-roast?selling_plan=4748083266&variant=39919760801858

Coffee favorite: Holiday Blend 2023 from Peet's Coffee- notes of brown sugar, black currant and spices; such a good holiday coffee to add to your regular rotation. The link: https://www.peets.com/products/holiday-blend

October 2023: What I've Been Into For This Spooky Szn Month!

Hello, all! It is time for the post you've been waiting for- the monthly faves! I've got a good slew of things to share with you all today. Hope you enjoy and have a happy Halloween (if you do celebrate that is; if not do one fun Fall inspired thing today- take pictures of the Fall foliage, make a cozy drink, watch Gilmore Girls, etc.)

Music Favorites:

This song is something else- love the retro vibes it gives- Only Girl by Stephen Sanchez- I'll link it- https://youtu.be/OOLMITiXv6c?si=Kh9QrShZj-HJhYO2

This song is a whole, chill relaxed vibe (usually don't do a lot of country vibed songs anyways)- love it- Spotless by Zach Bryan ft. the Lumineers- I'll link it: https://youtu.be/vhAEk-j-FGo?si=LAnQLPtW0s3afVri

Book Favorite:

Book synopsis via Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six cover page- Three couples rent a luxury cabin in the woods for a weekend getaway to die for in this chilling locked-room thriller. What could be more restful than a weekend getaway with family and friends? An isolated luxury cabin in the woods, spectacular views, a hot tub and a personal chef. Hannah’s generous brother found the listing online. The reviews are stellar. It'll be three couples on this trip with good food, good company and lots of R & R. But the dreamy weekend is about to turn into a nightmare. A deadly storm is brewing. The rental host seems just a little too present. The personal chef reveals that their beautiful house has a spine-tingling history. And the friends have their own complicated past, with secrets that run blood deep. How well does Hannah know her brother, her own husband? Can she trust her best friend? Meanwhile, someone is determined to ruin the weekend, looking to exact a payback for deeds long buried. Who is the stranger among them?

I rented this from my local library and I had such a hard time putting this one down- kept me guessing (even left me on a cliffhanger too). It was good but to also realize that family is important even if they are a lot to handle sometimes. Highly recommend if you are into thrillers/suspense/horror (definitely one out of my comfort zone).

Coffee Favorites:
This is one coffee from Counter Culture I picked up on a whim and ended up really liking. The coffee's name is Hologram and contains fruity, milk chocolate, and syrupy notes (it's a bit on the fruity side for some so if you don't like fruity notes in coffee, I would not recommend this coffee. If you do like fruity notes in this, pick it up or online). I ended up liking this one to my surprise.

This coffee was recommended to me by both my mom and sister and boy were they right about how good it was. It contained a nice bright citrus note anytime I would brew it. Great as an DIY cold brew if you are into that sort of thing. It's Stumptown Coffee Roasters Holler Mtn in case you wanted to grab the goodness for yourself.

Spotify Playlist Favorites:

I had this particular one on during my yoga and meditations I did this month and it's full of chill, soft music- Self Care Vibes- I'll link it- https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DX1ifjh7WmfEU?si=8f4700c5895b4660

I curated this one based off one song I heard which ended up being one of my favorite tunes (Only Girl by Stephen Sanchez) and I based the throwback vibes into this playlist- Retro Inspired Vibes- I'll link it- https://open.spotify.com/playlist/33LNpmQ0ST4Dp08mtYAqsw?si=2a1529075fe4498e

Fashion Favorites:

This hoodie I bought for myself from Target ended up being one of my absolute favorite pieces of clothing I would wear. Love the whole message over the hoodie itself (super soft too if I forgot to include that). They carry it online if you cannot find it in stores. I'll link it- https://www.target.com/p/women-39-s-self-love-club-graphic-sweatshirt-white-xs/-/A-88051752?epik=dj0yJnU9bm1PRnFSa09DMGtFcFpHY3VrMklGNWpYMFB0b3RNQlQmcD0wJm49U05Bb0NHRkdTX1VtS2Y4YjZORlNMdyZ0PUFBQUFBR1ZCTUxr

If you have been living under a rock, Nightmare Before Christmas has been one of my all time favorite movies and I went out one morning/afternoon and I found this beanie that ended up being of my favorite pieces to wear (now that it's finally getting cooler out). I'll link it- https://www.fivebelow.com/products/the-nightmare-before-christmas-jack-skellington-roll-down-beanie-mask

Workout Favorites for this month:

1) Knee Friendly Standing Lower Body + Ab Workout via Audrey Koomar (as you know I do deal with knee issues and this workout was such a nice supplement to alleviate any form of knee issues. Even if you don't have the knee issues, this workout was a good low-impact to do also; I loved that part of this workout included weights- even if that isn't a main focus for me right now). I'll link the two workouts- lower body knee friendly workout: https://youtu.be/w35fj6FhitU?si=PVdVmqh9g3iasM4W; ab workout knee friendly- https://youtu.be/3PHprHFsfK8?si=4m47WQNBzVJFYbY7

2) "Folklore" + "Evermore" dance workouts via Madfit- I'll link 'em- Folklore- https://youtu.be/2I1D1NJqQxQ?si=sC1_xhvNg6dZyU19

3) 30 minute "chill" pilates via The Glow Method- I'll link it: https://youtu.be/Lgc0YKCeHko?si=onbXFX34LNoHDHUt

4) 30 Minute full body pilates via Well + Good- I'll link it- https://youtu.be/JolPbpm1QFs?si=0r1YaMgMJEbru5mB

See you for next month's post!

September 2023 | What I've Been Into This Month

Well, this has been a month for me just to put it loosely. Began my new workout regime this month and with the continuing months of my exercising, I will feature my favorite workout YouTube videos for you in case you are interested in doing them for yourself! Anyways, the workouts have been a good mood booster (even on days when I haven't had the most motivation to do it). But enough about that, let's get into the favorites for this month.

Body Wash Favorite:

This body wash is such a cozy, not overwhelming strong scent (it has lavender which is why I like it). I was introduced to this by either my mom or sister (I cannot remember at this point). This scent was my first intro to Native and I'm looking forward to trying more of the body washes. I'll link it: https://www.target.com/p/native-cashmere-38-rain-body-wash-18-fl-oz/-/A-86131267#lnk=sametab

Body Lotion Favorite:

This lotion I picked out on a whim and I ended up loving the soft scent of this product (bonus points for not irritating my skin too). I'll link it: https://www.target.com/p/eos-shea-better-fresh-and-cozy-moisture-body-lotion-16-fl-oz/-/A-86416864#lnk=sametab

Movie Streaming Favorite:

I haven't enjoyed a Netflix movie this much in so long! Not many people may know this movie is based off the Jennifer E. Smith novel The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight- I read the book 6 years ago and only remember bits and pieces of it (may need to give it a re-read). This movie was funny, tear-jerking and all around lovely. Reminded me of the nostalgia from my England trip 6 years ago next month which is ironically when I began reading the book, too (had no idea prior to reading it the story was set in London, England and was going there 6 years ago next month). The universe works in mysterious ways!

Favorite quote from the film: "I'm down for a cheesy rom-com."

Coffee Favorites (gotta a few to share):

This coffee has been a wonderful alternative to pumpkin spice (for those out there that don't love it)- such a cozy scent for a coffee and ended up really liking it! I'll link it: https://www.target.com/p/naturally-flavored-cinnamon-vanilla-light-roast-ground-coffee-12oz-good-38-gather-8482/-/A-78613362#lnk=sametab

As for my pumpkin spice lovers, this coffee is for you. Perfect amount of spice and a bit natural tasting (not too artificial tasting for me which is nice). I'll link it: https://www.target.com/p/naturally-flavored-pumpkin-spice-light-roast-ground-coffee-12oz-good-38-gather-8482/-/A-78630662#lnk=sametab

This ground espresso I bought on a whim to compliment my flavored coffees and it pairs beautifully with any flavored coffee. Nice and smooth if I may add! It's Community Coffee dark + bold espresso roast. I'll link it: https://www.target.com/p/community-coffee-dark-38-bold-premium-dark-roast-ground-coffee-12oz/-/A-85811593#lnk=sametab

I cannot for the life of me link this Trader Joe's joe whole bean coffee but I will tell you it is a smooth and balanced coffee- even my own sister liked it! It's $4.99 at your Trader Joe's- in case you were wondering.

Beverage Favorite:

These waters became one of my favorite things to drink this month- I was introduced to them via my family. They are refreshing and not too sweet. The flavors I tried and liked were: Mango Chainsaw, Berry it Alive, Severed Lime, and the plain flavor. You can find these waters at most grocery and big chain stores (ie: Walmart).

Music favorite (good, fun tune to dance to):

"That's Rock N Roll" by Billie Joe Armstrong- link: https://youtu.be/l4JNA-yuv5M?si=MtmacHmqf8DSn03T

Workout favorite videos for this month:

Video 1 + 2: Throwback Dance Workout Part 1 via Madfit- link: https://youtu.be/TItIq0L0e58?si=1_avlzdYTfxp5e6A; Throwback Dance Workout Part 2 via Madfit- https://youtu.be/DO7O3ZI2tKs?si=-744dJi_7EiytOzz

Video 3: Power Yoga Core Workout via Popsugar Fitness- link: https://youtu.be/PIT7G8gOyAU?si=rqqQSREQMZYdXq7I

Video 4: Cardio-Boxing Workout via Popsugar Fitness- link: https://youtu.be/Z1LeHynYZLk?si=AslpViKs3GgaXmnw

That's all for this month's favorites post! Thanks for reading!

August 2023 Monthly Favorites | What I've Been Into For This Month

Well, it's that time again! This month has been a whirlwind for me- went on vacation with family then a couple of days later got the worst sickness (ie: summertime flu) for that week home (caught it from my dad- he had it a little worse than me). I didn't feel like myself much of that week- I guess getting my life was getting put on hold for a minute until I felt better. I did manage while sick to even get some basic things done (ie: laundry, cleaning my bathroom, and washing all of my bedding). Even though I didn't have a ton of energy to do much, I still managed. After being sick, I managed to ease back into a routine some and that same week I started virtual therapy- talking to a therapist (that's not one of my family member's) has been making me feel good. Then when I thought things got back to normal, I went over to pet sit for my neighbors' the week after that. I enjoyed doing it for them but the reality of it all: I was tired, overwhelmed, and just done at some points of the time over there- I must have good patience or something. I thank my dad also for helping me with some things during that week of pet-sitting, too. Then within that same week, I had to go to the doctors' (which I dreaded) and found out two days later there were some things I needed to do.

Those things were: adapt to a (mostly) plant-based diet (I'll still be eating small portions of meat here and there but won't be the main focus- it's a side focus rather than the main portion of the meal), cut down to two cups of caffeine a day in lieu of my current 3, eat more fiber-based foods (ie: oatmeal), exercise 5x a week for 30 minutes (I made myself a workout plan- it's subject to change depending on what life throws at me/special holidays + such) and no more fried, fatty foods (this can be tricky if we go to sports' games). It was such a shock to my brain- plus it's all overwhelming, too. This, hopefully, won't be a permanent change- it's only to get my cholesterol down as high cholesterol does run in my family. Who knows if it will be a permanent change? Life is unpredictable!

Anyways, I thank you for reading the bit of life updates- normally, I don't do that for my monthly favorites but I like to keep you all in the loop of things (most of the time). Let's get into the favorites!

Favorite Music (not much music favorites this month):

Favorite Daze by Neon Trees- this song ended up being pretty good and catchy too; I'll link it: https://youtu.be/Pkz0LMq5GCw?si=4a8uQbx37yylPxc-

Ant Pile by Dominic Pike- such a good, chill, vibey kinda song; I'll link it: https://youtu.be/xFlULnKuxtg?

Coffee Favorites:

This blend from Target was perfectly smooth, nice undertones of caramel and chocolate; this is Good + Gather house blend from Target I ended up really liking. I'll link it: https://www.target.com/p/house-blend-medium-roast-ground-coffee-12oz-good-38-gather-8482/-/A-78630655#lnk=sametab

This ground coffee (not k-cups pods like the photo above) I got on a whim and it's one of my few aunt's that I have favorite coffee. It's the most smoothest coffee I've ever drank (it was that good). I'll link it: https://www.target.com/p/san-francisco-bay-coffee-fog-chaser-28-oz-ground-coffee/-/A-88040031#lnk=sametab

Favorite Food:

So to shorten it, it became a craving for me this month these ice cream bars I'm about to mention. They were the perfect companion when I was sick at the beginning of the month. So if you are new around here or have been living under a rock, I've got a dairy sensitivity so not being able to have regular dairy products stinks sometimes (but in all honesty, I don't miss it). I craved the Oatly brand Vanilla Oat-Based Ice Cream Chocolate-Coated Bars plus the strawberry flavor, too. They mimicked real ice cream pretty well for me (maybe not to someone else). I'll link the vanilla: https://us.oatly.com/collections/frozen-dessert-novelty-bars/products/vanilla-frozen-dessert-novelty-bar; I'll link the strawberry: https://us.oatly.com/collections/frozen-dessert-novelty-bars/products/strawberry-swirl-frozen-dessert-novelty-bar.

Favorite Coffee Machine:

Well, it was time to get a new Nespresso machine- I had my sister's old Vertuo next model which was 7 years old and it was not sounding the best. So, we looked over other ones and she was nice enough to get me this model (which I loved the size of and was on sale at Target the day we got it)- the Nespresso Vertuo Pop+. I originally wanted the blue one, but I sufficed on the black model (I do have the exact Aeroccino milk frother in the photo but it came with the old set my sister bought). I've been loving it! It has a neat feature on it if you want an iced beverage- press the button on the top of it to brew any pod over ice (found this idea on Instagram). I'll link it: https://www.nespresso.com/us/en/order/machines/vertuo/vertuo-pop-plus-liquoriceblack.

Favorite Fashion Piece:

I've been living in this hoodie my mom got for me of my favorite movie- I saw this hoodie on TikTok and they carried it at Walmart in the mens section and I had to have it. It's one of my favorites for a reason! I'll link it: https://www.walmart.com/ip/The-Nightmare-Before-Christmas-Men-s-Big-Men-s-Graphic-Hoodie-Sweatshirt-Sizes-S-3XL/1155639554?athbdg=L1600&from=/search

Favorite Home Item:

I got this blanket from Marshall's as it is my favorite movie ever (The Nightmare Before Christmas) and it's so soft and fluffy and perfect! I'll link the video of it visually (stop at 11 seconds in the video to see it): https://www.tiktok.com/@tiatracy_/video/7263553872592080174

That's it for the favorites post for the month (plus the life updates too)- hope you all enjoyed reading! Tune in for next month's post!

Doing a little different post than normal... | June 2023

This is not your normal post; well, maybe it is; I've been writing down things that I've been learning as of lately or have already learned in my life- this is the part one of those lessons. I want to share them with you and if any them resonate with you- comment at the end of this post.

Life Lesson #1:

Distractions will only fill the void for so long. They aren't permanent fixes.

We think the things that are going to help us feel better usually do sometimes usually don't. Always do one thing that makes you feel 100% rather than trying to do everything all at once. The one thing I find that helps me (no matter what): meditation. Such a life saver!

Life Lesson #2: You will get unstuck of whatever is making you feel stuck in life. It's not going to be permanent.

I've been dealing with writer's block and it's been frustrating trying to figure out where to go next with my current writing. But I know with time, the piece will end up being beautiful.

Life Lesson #3: It's okay to express how you are really feeling- writing it out in a journal is a good start (always helps with me- but maybe that's not your thing- doing a meditation like I mentioned above could).

Life Lesson #4: Change is scary; change sucks; change is an essential part of our growth as humans. Without it, life will be kinda boring.

Life Lesson #5: The most authentic people will see you for you. Those are the most important people that you should keep in your life.

Life Lesson #6: You always won't get along with everyone. You are not here to please others. People pleasing will get you nowhere- I've been there and done that (it isn't fun).

Life Lesson #7: It's okay to treat yourself if you have been having a bit of a week- it doesn't even have to cost anything to treat yourself.  A simple spa night at home can work the trick- do whatever fills your soul.

Life Lesson #8 (this lesson is a bit vulnerable for me to share): Trauma is Scary. Reliving it in your mind is so much more worse. The one key step of healing (in my eyes that is): learning to heal from whatever trauma it is first and foremost. You can get past whatever trauma is holding you back- trust me- it will take time. You cannot let that trauma overtake your life- you have to be the first person to take the first step to heal from it.

Life Lesson #9: Be around nice people; they are good for you- mentally, physically and spiritually. I've grown to met some nice people over the course of my life and those people are the ones worth keeping in your inner circle.

Finally, life lesson #10: It's okay to sometimes feel confused; life can be confusing, too. When life can feel that way, take a step back and ask yourself this question- "is this really confusing me or not?". If it isn't, it's not even confusing. If it is, then it probably is (I know that it's obvious but still).

Well, I hope you enjoyed this different post from me. See you soon!

-With Love, Lauren-

Tech Favorite-

My Old Fitbit Charge 2 recently died (it was pretty old not gonna lie) so I have a new one I'm going to share with you all that I've been loving this month: Fitbit Inspire 3- I love all the fun new features on it- like changing the face on your watch to cater your own style- and my band color is midnight zen / black (goes with everything). I'll link it: https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/products/trackers/inspire3?sku=424BKBK

Body Care Favorite:

I recently picked up this new body lotion on a errand run out one weekend and I ended up loving it- it's from a brand that's cruelty-free / vegan (if you are interested in that sorta thing) and they are Soapbox- the scent I got of this body lotion is coconut milk scented and keeps my skin nice and moisturized. El Salvador: a sweet, fruity and jammy Nespresso coffee pod- I ended up liking this; normally I don't love fruity coffees but this one changed my opinion on it. Link- https://www.nespresso.com/us/en/order/capsules/vertuo/master-origins-el-salvador

Alto Onice: a smoky, classy dark roast coffee pod from Nespresso (only compatible with the Vertuo next, Vertuo Creatista and Pop+ machines- Nespresso's words not mine)- I ended up loving this dark roast coffee- super good for my dark roast lovers that have a Nespresso machine! Link- https://www.nespresso.com/us/en/order/capsules/vertuo/alto-onice-vertuo-coffee-pods

Drinkware Favorite- so as you know I'm a fan of La Colombe coffee (still ruling out the coffee that goes with this glass I'm about to reference- the coffee name is Sun Chaser)- I decided to get the coffee and glass bundle from the website and the glass ended up being such a fun summer glass to drink anything out of- besides the obvious. I'll link it for ya: https://www.lacolombe.com/products/early-bird-glass

I hope you enjoyed reading this month's post- I had a lot of fun favorites not gonna lie! Enjoy this official first month of summer and soak it up (even if you hate the heat like me). See you next month for the next round of favorites!
