Catching up time (again!)

Hello, everyone! I quite haven't updated this since January. But anyways, I wanted to tell you what I've been up to in the past months. Let's see. what I can remember, hmm?

In May of 2013, we celebrated Mother's Day at our house and had everyone over, including my cousins. We enjoyed ourselves with the array of food being served and all that jazz. By the way, the mac n cheese that day was awesome! Then June 2013 arrives, stayed home for most of it. Didn't do a lot of vacationing yet. Then onto July and August 2013, to which I visited my grandparents and my aunt and uncle. Both trips were quite fun! I did enjoy myself on each trip. Also, had my family reunion (July 2013) to attend to, that was my least favorite event of the summer.

Then into September! This month we went camping, and I got to see my mom's side of the family on this trip. Unfortunately, my sister couldn't come because she had school at the time and my aunt and uncle came because they were too busy with their own lives (sorry had to state my opinion here.) But overall, it wasn't a bad trip to begin with. Typically we would be on a campground but we went to my dad's uncle's beach house instead. (To be honest, I actually liked it there than a campground.) Enjoyed silly moments hanging with my cousins, and everything else in between. A real nice camping trip!

October rolls around and it's the Halloween month. But I had to figure out what I wanted to be; I had so many ideas in my head at the time. One weekend, my parents and I went to the mall because I wanted to go clothes shopping. Headed to H&M, got a few sweaters, shirts, leggings, and booties. Then to American Eagle, where my mom bought me a few tops (one t shirt in purple and a nice cream colored shirt, and skinny jeans.) then to some more stores (found two shirts and a wallet at hot topic and nothing at forever 21 I could find). Afterwards we went to lunch at Greene Turtle and had the most delicious veggie wrap and sweet potato fries. YUM! Then went to Target, and after went home. Then Halloween comes, and I end up coming with a last minute costume idea to which it is- a rocker chick. Yep, I know it may sound lame, but I actually liked it. Let's be honest, I probably won't be doing black eyeliner anytime soon. At least there was good candy that day.

Then onto November! This month is my birthday month and yes, I may brag about how amazing it is. Oh, why not? Anyways, when November 17th came, I knew today was going to be a good day. It was the day I turned 21 years of age. It felt a little weird to be older, but I dealt with it. The whole kitchen was decorated in the purple streamers and had an amazing Hello Kitty theme (I loved it, by the way!) Got Starbucks earlier in the day with my mom and ordered a Chai Tea Latte (not a big fan of coffee, here.) Came back, prepared snacks to watch football and oddly enough, our team (Redskins) lost. Pure joy. Then got ready to go out to dinner at DuClaw, a bar and restaurant (they are popular for their variety of beers.). Sat down to our table with my parents and step grandma, and ordered our food and appetizers. I got the bruschetta with Balsamic Glaze, Kale & Quinoa salad, and a veggie sandwich with fries (I loved the bruschetta and the salad; wasn't too keen on the veggie sandwich.) Then as a part of my birthday I got a free dessert (normally, I don't eat a lot of sweets, but it's my birthday, so yeah.) and the dessert was called Xagato, a fried banana cheesecake with caramel drizzle and fresh whipped cream. Mmm...! Back home, got to blow out the candles on my cake and my mom (of who got me Just Dance 2014 for my birthday!) made me a carrot cake w/ cream cheese frosting- it was awesome! Later on that month, one of my gifts my dad got for me arrived which was an iPad mini (since my ipod screen is cracked from dropping it on the ground and it's acting up as well.) and I've loved it since that day!

On the 26th of November, we drove down to visit my grandparents and sister and other relatives. I was very excited to see everyone that night. Unpacked and got settled in. Opened our (me and my sister) gifts and cards for our birthday to which I received $100 from my grandparents and a Pandora bracelet with various charms on it. I LOVED IT! :) Then went to bed later on, and prepared for the next day. On Wednesday of our trip, we (my dad, sister and I) headed out for some part of the day. Headed to Target, Best Buy, and then to Jack in the Box for lunch. Came back, and hung out for the rest of the evening. Had a delicious dinner that night to which is pot roast (I just ate the carrots and potatoes from it- since you guys know by know I don't eat the meat.) and Yorkshire Pudding (a British version of an American dinner roll/biscuit.) with gravy. Mmmm! Then it got awkward later, and that wasn't pretty at all. Then to bed again! On Thanksgiving (the 28th), we got up and watched the parade and had cinnamon rolls. Got ready for the day, and it was a nice day, too. The dinner was wonderful! Had green beans, cranberry sauce (both canned and freshly made), mashed potatoes, yams (half w/ marshmallows, half without marshmallows), stuffing (couldn't eat- to which I wasn't too happy about got over it quickly though.), rolls, and their turkey (we jokingly named ours Marky Mark the turkey (instead of the traditional Tom.) I had a stuffed "turkey" from the brand Gardein to accompany my sides. I was so full from that dinner, but it was good. Then later on, played this game entitled Cards Against Humanity (an adult version of Apples to Apples) and it was so much fun! Then my dad and sister came back from doing some black Friday shopping and bought an Xbox One with two games (Just Dance 2014 and Angry Birds Star Wars). Played one game for a while then it was on to dessert! Of course, I had pumpkin pie with fresh whipped topping! So good. Then just chilled and hung out for the evening until bed.

The day after thanksgiving (the 29th), we made plans to head out to see The Hunger Games Catching Fire. So we go and get ready then we head to the theater to see it. Got tickets, snacks/drinks, and sat to watch it. By the way, I loved the movie! (Still need to finish the book, though. Bummer.) Came back, chilled and hung out until we had to go out to dinner at this fancy restaurant called Firebirds. Got ready around 6pm, and left around 7pm for our dinner at the restaurant. We got to sit down an hour later, and ordered our drinks; since I'm now 21, I ordered a ladylike cocktail (since I don't care for the taste of beer and wine.) named Passion Punch- it was good! Then had a bite or two of a vegetarian quesadilla my aunt ordered (it was yummy!) Then got to have a mixed green salad and then salmon and two sides for my entree (the sides were spiced pecan green beans and vegetable medley). Since the month was my sister and I's birthday we were offered dessert. So, I got Key Lime Pie (so good!) and my sister ordered Carrot Cake (YUM!). Then went home, and chilled out until bedtime.

This was probably one of my most fun mini vacations I've ever been on. I enjoyed seeing my family on this trip. I just loved it. Anyways, I will see you people later in my next blog post! (By later, it might be up in 2014! Who knows?)

Have a happy holidays and new year, if I don't update it by then.
